TOTP: OK, dish the nasties. Who's the worst dancer you've worked with?
Gary: I hate that question! I'd rather talk about those popstars that I've seen make a lot of progress. I love working with the kids and following their development. When I first started with them, some of those guys could barely put one foot in front of the other. Now, they dance like grown-up dancers. When I was working on the American Pop Idol II tour earlier this year, I met some really hot dancers there. Oh, and Kelly from Liberty X is really good!
TOTP: Have you ever had to make up routines to songs you just don't like?
Gary: Yeah, but then I do love music. I can usually find some way of getting inspired. I'm doing 'Tears On My Pillow' with S Club 8 at the moment, which is a bit dreary for all of us to be honest! I'm just trying to draw on the musical Greece, as opposed to Kylie's version.
TOTP: Have you ever lost your rag and had to crack the whip during a rehearsal?
Gary: Yes. I've had to raise my voice with the S Club 8 kids a couple of times. I feel like a bit of a school teacher! But I only do it to be heard over the noise. It's difficult to coordinate all eight at once, especially when some of them are moving quicker than others or if they're just getting out of hand. If it gets a bit chaotic I just break them up into smaller groups.
